CF Support and Peer Groups in Australia

Living with CF can sometimes be isolating. It makes connecting with community even more important. The following list of CF support groups, peer and community groups and CF state-based organisations can help to provide that connection.

Ballarat Cystic Fibrosis Incorporated 

The Ballarat Cystic Fibrosis Incorporation is committed to helping people with CF and their families in the Ballarat area.

Bendigo CF Support Group Inc. 

Bendigo Cystic Fibrosis Support Group Inc exists to support individuals and families living with cystic fibrosis in the Greater Bendigo region.

Geelong CF Support Group 

Cystic Fibrosis Geelong Inc. fundraises to assist those in Geelong with treatment costs, to raise awareness and support research for a cure.

Sister5Roses: for women with CF in Australia 

Sister5Roses is a Facebook group for young women with CF operated by CFCC.  

Sister5Roses was prompted by a group of young members who were looking for a space to connect online. This group is a place for young women with CF (17+) to connect with others who share a similar journey. The Sister5Roses group can be joined on request and is a safe place for you to share your stories and hear those of other young women.

CF Hub 

Established in September in 2019, CF Hub is a resource for anyone with CF run by and for Australian adults living with CF. Find more information, support and contribute to the discussion at CFHub.

Cystic Fibrosis in Queensland Support Group 

This is a private Facebook group, a support and information hub about Cystic Fibrosis for people in Queensland.

Cystic Fibrosis and Covid-19 – Australia 

This is a private Facebook group where people with CF in Australia share experiences with Covid-19 in relation to Cystic Fibrosis.

Beyond Blue – Beyond Blue provides support and information on anxiety, depression and suicide. 

Lifeline – A national charity providing all Australians with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. 

ReachOut – An anonymous way to get help and access to information and support services 24/7. 

Youth Beyond Blue – Dedicated site for young people that provides information, resources and support for young people dealing with depression and/or anxiety. 

Headspace – Headspace helps young people aged 12 to 25 to get advice, support and other information around general health, mental health and counselling, education, employment and alcohol and other drug services. 

E-Headspace – E-headspace is a free confidential space where young people aged 12 to 25 or their family can chat, email or speak on the phone with a qualified youth mental health professional.
